Dad stayed with Mom until 1:00 am. She was really happy to see him. They did one lap around the Connors Center.
One of the staff her is a Christian who told Mom that she was praying for her every day. This encouraged her immensely.
This morning Mom and I enjoyed a verse from a hymn:
"Lord, Thy life abundant,
Flowing, rich and free,
Constantly refreshes
And empowers me.
Death by life is swallowed,
Weakness is made strong,
All my bonds are broken,
Gloom is turned to song."
We are still waiting for Mom's bowel to wake up. This is an important step in the recovery process. Please continue to pray for this.

Dear Joanne,
I love this blog. It is really a great way to keep up with the progress. I just want you to know that there are even people on small specs of land in the middle of the Atlantic praying for you and thinking about you. Best wishes and lots of love.

Our daughter had abdominal surgery done a few years ago at the age of 21. It took a week for her bowels to wake up-so not to worry.
Because she wasn't allowed to eat during that time, the surgeon would not sew up her incision because nutrition was needed for the skin to heal properly. She actually went home with her 8 inch incision wide open and packed! We had to pack it twice a day, marveling that this could even be done without infection setting in. But the amazing thing is that her body began to close the 8 inch incision by itself! It began to close from the deepest part outward. A month after surgery, the doc closed her up real pretty.
All that to say that our bodies are amazingly resilient and designed to self heal.
