The initial stage of repacking the wound was accomplished in a short time with limited pain late this morning. The new foam used for packing the wound came out with little adhesion.
This afternoon, we saw Dr. Berkowitz at Dana-Farber and he examined the wound. He was very encouraged at the rate of progress even with chemotherapy underway. He commented that the tissue looked healthy and the wound looked half the size in depth since the original surgery. He encouraged Mom to continue with the current wound treatment approach involving the vacuum. He indicated that the primary focus is the elimination of the cancerous tumors however. A key measure will be the CA125 blood test which will be taken before and after the next round of chemo next week.
Recovering eating, bowel function, and physical therapy continue to be important priorities as Mom continues at Youville.

Was reading the Word this morning asking the Lord for scriptures to pass along that would bring you comfort and strength.
Psalm 139 touched me and verse 17
"How precious (towards) me are your thoughts,O God! How vast the sum of them!
Were I to count them they would outnumber the grains of sand.."
Comfort from knowing His tender love for each of you. Continual precious thoughts. Compassion and a tender heart towards you...
I received comfort in meditating on His daily supply of strength...
Isaiah 40:28 & 29 "The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."
May each of you find new hope and strength to carry you through the overwhelming parts of your days/week.

Dear dear saints! i just heard recently of all your health challenges, Joanne. You have all been in my heart since then. I've read the entire Blog; lots of it sounds familiar. I regret that I can't come and visit you there and bring you some homemade Puerto Rican chicken soup!
These verses have comforted and strengthened me lately:
"Having therefore a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all respects like us, yet without sin. Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help." Heb. 4:14-16.
Also: "Hence also He is able to save to the uttermost those who come forward to God through Him, since He lives always to intercede for them." (7:25) We do have such a High Priest, divine and human, taking care of our case!
